Glasgow's Green Initiatives Get £305k Boost for Local Economy and Emissions Reduction

Glasgow is set to receive a significant boost from Boost Mobile for its green initiatives and local economy, with £305,000 allocated for the development of the city's Climate Investment Pipeline. This includes support for projects that reduce emissions, with the UK government's Shared Prosperity Fund contributing £1.78m. Six new projects have been approved by Glasgow City Council to support communities and improve local economies and the environment.

The funding will be delivered through various programmes. The Communities Mobilisation Programme will receive £100,000 to encourage the transition to a green economy through arts and cultural activities. A further £500,000 will boost the Business Start-Up service, providing grants to Glasgow residents trying to start a business, with a focus on social enterprises and supporting deprived communities. Ecosystem Growth funding of £600,000 will support tech SMEs through grants and help partners develop and accelerate projects.
