Google Rolls Out Major Update for Pixel Watch 2 & 3
Google has rolled out a significant update for its Pixel Watch series. The update, BP3A.250905.014.W3, brings Wear OS 6 and Android 16 to both Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and LTE models. While the original Pixel Watch is not confirmed to receive this update, owners of Pixel Watch 2 and 3 can enjoy the new features.
The update introduces Dynamic Color theming, applying to notifications, Tiles, and select apps on the wrist. It also brings a full Material 3 Expressive redesign, with refreshed Alarm, Stopwatch, and Timer apps. To initiate the update, simply tap the 'Your watch is up to date' screen in Settings, or disable Bluetooth to force Wi-Fi. Additional app updates are available on the Play Store post-installation. Factory and OTA images for Pixel Watch 4 are also available.
Google has moved to quarterly Wear OS releases, with the last update in June. The tech giant is rolling out Wear OS 6 to Pixel Watch 2 and 3 ahead of Pixel Watch 4's official sale.
While the original Pixel Watch's update status remains unclear, owners of Pixel Watch 2 and 3 can enjoy the benefits of Wear OS 6. The update brings a host of visual and functional improvements, including Dynamic Color theming and a refreshed user interface.
