Bavaria Strengthens Police Presence with 646 New Officers
The Bavarian police force is set for a significant boost, with 646 new officers set to join the ranks across the region. This spring, the Police Headquarters Mittelfranken will receive around 100 of these new additions, with an additional 35 officers joining the Bavarian Border Police.
Since 2017, the Police Headquarters Mittelfranken has seen multiple personnel allocations, but the exact number is not disclosed in the article. In March 2025, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann welcomed around 90 new police officers to the Police Headquarters Mittelfranken.
The personnel increase is intended to strengthen the police presence on the ground and meet local challenges adequately. Each of the police inspectorates at Schweinfurt, Bamberg, Regensburg, Ingolstadt, and Fürstenfeldbruck will receive four additional officers. The distribution of new personnel among the individual stations is done independently.
In spring 2025, police officers were transferred to the Police Directorate of Middle Franconia, and in September 2025, police stations at the ANKER locations Erlangen, Nuremberg, and Zirndorf were reinforced with ten additional officers each. Other ANKER locations such as Augsburg, Deggendorf, Munich, and Waldkraiburg received four additional officers each.
The allocation of trained police officers is based on the concept for redistributing positions 'The Bavarian Police 2025'. After accounting for replacements, this means an increase of 31 positions at the Police Headquarters Mittelfranken. The new police officers are a valuable reinforcement for the Mittelfranken police stations.
The welcome ceremony took place in the atrium of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home in Nuremberg. The police officers, who will be joining various police departments across Bavaria, are eager to contribute to maintaining law and order in the region.
It is important to note that the total number of police officers currently serving at the Police Headquarters Mittelfranken or the Bavarian police departments is not specified in the article. However, the influx of new officers is expected to enhance the overall capacity and efficiency of the Bavarian police force.
