But hold up! While Zeiss Meditec's retina specialist acquisition, DORC, played a part in this success, it was far from the only contributor. Outgoing CEO, Markus Weber, shared that even without the DORC deal, order intake would've still soared by over 20%. [🔗3]

However, the party isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) took a slight dip, falling from €108.0 million to €99.1 million. [🔗1]

Weber himself acknowledged the storm brewing in the horizon, pointing to uncertainties stemming from U.S. trade tariffs and currency fluctuations. "Predicting the future in this climate is like trying to catch water with a net," he said. [🔗1]

Despite the uncertainty, Weber expects a moderate revenue increase alongside stable to slightly higher margins. He credits the success to the company's fresh product lineup. [🔗1]

Markets in Germany, the UK, and Spain are shining bright, with the US and parts of Asia recovering nicely. However, no specific forecast numbers were shared by the board. [🔗1]

As we look towards the future, Markus Weber will be trading his seat for a sunny retirement. His shoes will be filled by Maximilian Foerst, currently commanding Zeiss Meditec's China business. Foerst takes over in June. [
