Ingeteam Powers 125 MW Pleasant Valley Solar 2 in Idaho
Ingeteam is supplying inverters for the upcoming 125 MW Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project in Idaho, which is set to open in early summer 2026. This project, backed by $100 million in tax equity funding from Truist Bank, is expected to deliver electricity to Idaho Power and support Meta's data center near Boise.
Pleasant Valley Solar 2 is using Thornova Solar PV modules mounted on Nextracker single-axis trackers. The land in the region is well-suited for large-scale solar projects, supporting future expansion. The increasing demand for reliable solar power, driven by high-tech manufacturing projects like those by Meta and Micron, makes this project timely.
Sundt Renewables is providing engineering, procurement, and construction services for the project. While land has been set aside and permitted for future battery-based storage, it has not yet been contracted. Large-scale solar is seen as a reliable and cost-effective solution for electricity demand in the northwestern United States, with Pleasant Valley Solar 2 joining the recently commissioned 200 MW Solar Valley 1 project in delivering power.
Pleasant Valley Solar 2, with its strategic location and suitable land, is poised to contribute significantly to Idaho's renewable energy mix. Its timely completion in 2026 will help meet the growing demand for reliable solar power, supporting both Idaho Power and Meta's data center.
