Instagram Launches Location Map Feature, Off by Default
Instagram is introducing a new feature: a map that shows users' locations. This feature, akin to Snapchat's Snap Map, is disabled by default and needs manual activation. Users can select who to share their location with or exclude certain places.
The Instagram Product Team at Meta has developed this new feature. To access it, users need to go to their Instagram inbox and tap on 'Map'.
The map displays the location of Instagram friends and the user's own location, if enabled. Users can specify who sees their location or exclude certain places. To enable the map, follow the steps in the 'How To Enable The Location Map' section. To disable it, use the 'How To Disable The Location Map' section. Instagram ensures that no one shares their location without consent.
Instagram's new map feature lets users share their location with friends. It's disabled by default for privacy, and users can control who sees their location or exclude specific places. The feature is now available in the Instagram inbox.
