Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for promptly responding to and resolving technical support tickets related to WordPress websites. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing issues involving themes, plugins, database errors, site performance, and outages. The role also involves supporting integrations with APIs, third-party tools, and payment gateways.
In addition, the engineer will ensure the resilience and stability of WordPress-driven environments, collaborating in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment that blends technical expertise with excellent customer service.
Requirements and Skills
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge and experience with WordPress, including multisite, themes, plugins, APIs, hooks, and WooCommerce. Proficiency in PHP and a solid understanding of WordPress architecture are essential.
The candidate should also have experience with troubleshooting database errors and site performance optimization. Familiarity with Docker, Linux command line, and DevOps tools is considered important.
In terms of soft skills, the candidate should be patient, empathetic, and thrive in a remote, asynchronous work environment. They should be skilled at multitasking and organizing under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must.
Preferred experience includes working knowledge of Linux command-line, SSH, exposure to Jira and agile workflow, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or Docker.
