iWant unveils redesigned streaming service platform

In a grand event titled "Unlock Your Feels: The New iWant Experience," the popular Filipino streaming platform iWant announced its latest updates and strategic moves on July 9, 2025. The event, led by ABS-CBN digital head Jamie Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, and COO Cory Vidanes, marked the launch of the revamped iWant, offering a broader content library and enhanced user experience.

The new iWant now features select shows and films from GMA (outside the Philippines), Regal Entertainment, and Viva, alongside iWant Originals and exclusives. This expansion aims to cater to a wider audience while maintaining its focus on Filipino culture and content.

The revamped streaming platform promises a new look and a sleeker interface, with faster performance, sharper video previews, and seamless availability across various devices, including smart TVs, mobile phones, tablets, and desktops. Viewers can now enjoy the iWant experience on portable devices and select platforms like Chromecast and AirPlay.

iWant aspires to be more than just a streaming service, providing a digital home for stories and feelings. The platform's focus remains on Filipino culture and content, as evident in its extensive collection of Tagalog movies, Pinoy teleseryes, original series, and live TV channels.

The event also showcased upcoming exclusives such as the upcoming series "Ghosting" starring Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra, "MMK" Director's Cut, and the BINI Docuseries. Notable personalities, including Emilio Daez, Reign Parani, Sean Tristan, River Joseph, Andi Abaya, Dylan Yturralde, and Lance Reblando, Shanaia Gomez, Kaori Oinuma, Donny Pangilinan, and Kapamilya stars, were present to experience the platform's new features and emotionally driven content direction firsthand.

The "Museum of Filipino Feels" was an interactive activation at the event, showcasing popular and trending titles. The upcoming "BINI World Tour Stories" will be available on iWant in September, along with ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs documentaries, and titles produced by partners such as MavX, The Fat Kid Inside, Project 8, Nathan Studios, Kinetec, and many more.

The event also brought together advertisers, creative agencies, and brand collaborators, reflecting iWant's commitment to fostering partnerships that enrich its content offerings. Despite ongoing issues such as difficulties with episode access after subscription upgrades, non-automatic episode refreshing, and inconsistent broadcasting functions on mobile devices, the platform remains dedicated to improving user experience rather than introducing major new features.

As of mid-2025, iWant has not notably changed its streaming platform direction, continuing to offer a large collection of Filipino content on a unified, easy-to-use interface. However, no new features or strategic shifts for iWant were specifically mentioned in the latest available information up to this date.
