Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Opens New Mechanical Design & Robotics Lab
The Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has opened a new Mechanical Design & Robotics Lab, inaugurated on 24 September 2025 by Ajax Systems. The lab, located at the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering, offers students a chance to master design and robotics skills and gain practical marketable skills.
The lab boasts 20 workstations and is open to all university students for project development and research. It features a design area equipped with computers and a workshop for model development. Students can utilise a range of equipment, from traditional lathes and milling machines to advanced robotic systems and measuring instruments.
The lab will host master classes, workshops, and internship programmes in robotics, automation, metrology, and optics. A dedicated team of teachers, engineers, and administrators will maintain and support the lab's activities. Students can look forward to joining the first Mechanical Engineering programme in November 2025.
The Mechanical Design & Robotics Lab at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, a result of cooperation with Ajax Systems, is set to equip students with valuable skills and hands-on experience. The lab's diverse equipment and comprehensive programmes promise to enhance students' learning and career prospects.
