Latest Rolex Timepieces Debuted at Watches and Wonders 2025 Event
Watches and Wonders 2025 in Geneva saw Rolex unveil a range of new and revised models, showcasing the brand's blend of innovation and classic design.
One of the highlights of the event was the introduction of the GMT-Master II, available in two new 40mm versions: a full 18 ct yellow gold model and a yellow Rolesor version. Both watches feature a distinctive two-tone Cerachrom bezel in grey and black ceramic and come on a Jubilee bracelet with Oysterlock clasp and Easylink extension. Powered by the Caliber 9002, they offer robust precision and a 72-hour power reserve.
The Oyster Perpetual collection continues to embody trademark features such as chronometric precision, waterproof Oyster cases, and self-winding Perpetual rotors. While specific new model details weren’t highlighted, the collection maintains its reputation for reliability and understated elegance.
Rolex also introduced a new iteration of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, featuring a dial crafted from high-tech ceramic in vivid green Cerachrom.
Another significant addition to the Rolex lineup is the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller, characterised by bold aesthetics and industry-leading technology. The Land-Dweller features a new movement, calibre 7135, which beats at a frequency of 5 Hz and measures time to one-tenth of a second. Its design includes six and nine numerals being open at their centre, luminescent index hour markers, and a rectilinear seconds hand with a counterweight shaped like honeycomb cells. The Land-Dweller is available in three versions: a 36mm model made of 18ct Everose gold, a 40mm model cast in white Rolesor, and another 40mm model presented in 950 platinum.
The Perpetual 1908 watch, part of the 2023 Perpetual collection, features a bold white dial, Breguet-style hour hands, and a minute hand shaped like a two-edged sword. It is waterproof to 50m and is powered by the calibre 7140, a self-winding, high-precision, and resistant mechanical movement that offers hours, minutes, and small seconds functions and boasts a power reserve of around 66 hours. The Perpetual 1908's new seven-piece link Settimo bracelet is crafted from 18ct yellow gold and inspired by vintage jewelry bracelets. It feels super-light on the wrist and has a fully polished appearance, while a concealed Crownclasp makes for a seamless finish.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 features a vibrant red ombré dial and ten diamond-set hour markers. It is powered by calibre 2236, a self-winding mechanical movement that offers precision and reliability, providing a 55-hour power reserve and displaying the date, hours, minutes, and seconds.
Three iconic Rolex models - the Cosmograph Daytona, GMT-Master II, and Sky-Dweller - are presented with new dial configurations. The Cosmograph Daytona now boasts a turquoise blue lacquer dial, the GMT-Master II features a distinctive tiger iron dial, and the Sky-Dweller in 18 ct yellow gold has a green sunray-finish dial. The Cosmograph Daytona has a black Cerachrom bezel, the GMT-Master II boasts a two-tone brown and black Cerachrom insert, and the Sky-Dweller's fluted bezel is made from 18ct yellow gold.
The Daytona continues to carry its adventurer spirit with a black lacquer dial and numerals at 3, 6, and 9, preserving a lineage dating back to the 1953 Everest conquest. The Yacht-Master 40 in Everose gold with a matte black Cerachrom bezel and black Oysterflex bracelet remains a fashionable choice combining sportiness and refinement.
In summary, Watches & Wonders 2025 saw Rolex balancing subtle technical advancements like ceramic bezel innovation, new gold and Rolesor combinations, and exclusive limited editions alongside continuations of timeless, iconic lines emphasizing luxury, durability, and precision.
Rolex demonstrated their commitment to blending technology and elegance with the unveiling of the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller, featuring state-of-the-art mechanics and a striking design.
The Texan, a potential future addition to the Rolex lineup, could showcase this balance further by integrating advanced gadgets into its sleek design, expanding the realm of technology within the world of luxury timepieces.
