Viofo, a leading manufacturer of dash cams, has launched its latest innovation, the A329S multi-camera dash cam system. The system, characterised by its cutting-edge imaging, advanced connectivity, and expansive storage flexibility, promises to revolutionise vehicle surveillance.

At the heart of the system is the flagship front-facing A329S camera, equipped with Sony's STARVIS 2, 8MP IMX678 1/1.8" sensor. This sensor, renowned for its excellent performance in low light and high contrast scenarios, enables the camera to record sharp 4K video at a smooth 60 frames per second.

The A329S supports multiple camera channels, including a wide 210° fisheye cabin camera, a rear camera, and an optional telephoto camera (A329T) that offers 4x optical zoom for a clearer, magnified recording of the central portion of the front view. All cameras in the system, including the A329T and A329WW, are expected to feature smart voice control for hands-free operation.

Equipped with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the A329S can wirelessly transfer files at up to 30MB/s, enabling fast previewing, sharing, and management of footage. It also includes a USB 3.0 port for high-speed wired file transfers and firmware updates. The system supports recording directly to an external SSD (up to 4TB), providing ample storage for extended driving sessions.

The A329S is equipped with a GPS module that supports multiple global navigation satellite systems, ensuring accurate location, speed, and timestamp data. It also offers parking mode with low power consumption and impact detection, as well as loop recording with automatic overwriting of oldest files.

Other features include video multiplexing to combine multi-camera footage in customised layouts, hybrid parking mode and buffered recording for enhanced event capture, and clear spoken notifications about settings adjustments and errors.

The Viofo A329S is available as a single camera for $330/£330, with various combinations of two- or three-camera bundles available, depending on the desired additional cameras. Prices for three-camera bundles top out at around $486/£486.

For commercial vehicles, Viofo offers a water-proof, externally mounted rear camera, available with 3M, 8M, 10M, and 15M cable options. The A329WW camera, designed for indoor use, shoots at 2560 x 1440 resolution and has a hydrophobic coating to bead away water droplets.

The A329S, A329T, and A329WW cameras promise to deliver unparalleled performance, advanced connectivity, and expansive storage flexibility, making them a sophisticated solution for multi-camera vehicle surveillance.
