Lenovo's Legion Go 2 Gaming Handheld Launches Amid Delays and Price Concerns

Lenovo has launched the Legion Go 2, a PC gaming handheld, with a larger OLED display and detachable joysticks. However, the launch has been marred by delays and a rushed release, potentially to beat the upcoming Xbox Ally.

The Legion Go 2 boasts a 7-inch OLED display, detachable joysticks, a trackpad, a kickstand, and a fingerprint reader. It runs on AMD's Z2 platform, similar to the Xbox Ally. Lenovo apologized for the inconvenience caused by the delayed pre-orders, which were initially set for September 16 but pushed back to October 24. The company attributed the delays to unexpectedly high pre-order numbers.

Lenovo has priced the high-end Legion Go 2 at $1350 in the US and £1500 in the UK. The company suggests those upset by the price consider the Legion Go S. Meanwhile, the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, set to launch on October 16, 2025, are expected to be cheaper, with the Xbox Ally X featuring an AI-powered NPU for improved performance.

Lenovo's Legion Go 2, despite its impressive features, has faced a rocky launch with delayed pre-orders and a potentially rushed release. The company has acknowledged the issues and promised to improve their process moving forward. Meanwhile, the gaming market awaits the cheaper Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X.
