Liechtenstein implements a digital identity system, adopting technology originating from Austria

The Principality of Liechtenstein has chosen a new electronic identity (eID) system from YOUNIQX Identity AG, a subsidiary of the Austrian State Printing House. This innovative solution, set to launch by the end of the year, is backed by the expertise of CRYPTAS International GmbH and European Trust Services GmbH, both subsidiaries of the Austrian State Printing House.

YOUNIQX Identity AG has been partnered with Nok Nok Labs since 2017, and the American company plays a crucial role in the new eID system. Nok Nok Labs, a market leader in next-generation authentication, provides advanced authentication technology that supports secure, scalable, and customizable passwordless authentication.

The technology offered by Nok Nok Labs enables phishing-resistant authentication, protection against credential theft, and GDPR-friendly biometric handling, ensuring the highest level of security for the eID system. Moreover, it offers cross-platform compatibility for seamless use across devices and developer-friendly tools for easy integration and modernization.

These capabilities significantly enhance the security and usability of YOUNIQX Identity AG's electronic ID solution for Liechtenstein, facilitating a smooth, highly secure, and user-friendly system aligned with modern authentication standards. The new eID system is a native smartphone solution combined with seamless FIDO integration, making it a convenient and consistent user experience across digital channels.

In addition to the eID system, YOUNIQX Identity AG offers MICK (My Identity Check), a highly secure video identity authentication, and FIDO-certified multi-factor authentication for mobile and web-based applications. The company also provides Chainlock, a secure cold storage for digital assets.

YOUNIQX Identity AG relies on reliable technologies and open standards like OpenID Connect for secure and easy integration into existing systems. For more information about YOUNIQX Identity AG and the new eID system, visit www.youniqx.com and www.europeantrustservices.com.
