Zeekr Unveils High-End Plug-In Hybrid SUV, Amidst Strong Pre-Sale Demand
Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle brand owned by Chinese automotive giant Geely, has launched its new flagship model, the Zeekr 9our X, for pre-sales. The luxury plug-in hybrid SUV was unveiled at the 2025 Chengdu auto show on its opening day and has already secured an impressive 42,667 pre-orders within the first hour of its launch.
The Zeekr 9our X boasts a 2.0T plug-in hybrid powertrain and a full-stack 900-volt hybrid high-voltage architecture, making it one of the most advanced electric vehicles (EV) from a Chinese domestic automaker. With a starting pre-sale price of RMB 479,900 ($67,520), it is among the priciest models from a Chinese manufacturer.
The new SUV offers a CLTC range of 300 to 380 kilometers, with battery pack options of 55 kWh and 70 kWh. Both battery packs support charging rates up to 6C, enabling a 20-80 percent charge in about 9 minutes and a 10-80 percent charge in 10.3 minutes.
The Zeekr 9our X is the first model built on the SEA-S platform, which Zeekr unveiled in July. It offers three variants during pre-sales: Max, Ultra, and Hyper, priced at RMB 479,900, RMB 499,900, and RMB 569,900 respectively. Chinese customers who pay a RMB 5,000 deposit before the official launch will receive a RMB 10,000 discount upon final payment.
Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) will officially launch the Zeekr 9our X large luxury hybrid SUV on September 29, with the launch event set to commence at 7:00 pm Beijing time. The company has already begun shipping display models of the Zeekr 9our X to its nationwide stores.
The Zeekr 9our X's three silicon carbide motors deliver a peak output of 1,030 kW (1,381 horsepower). The vehicle's deliveries increased by 10.61% to 44,843 in August, despite a decline in the Zeekr brand's overall sales.
The Zeekr 9our X is a significant step forward for Zeekr, marking the brand's entry into the luxury hybrid SUV market. With its advanced technology, impressive performance, and strong pre-sale demand, the Zeekr 9our X is poised to challenge the dominance of established luxury brands in the Chinese market.
