MAN Unveils First Fully Electric Coach, Lion's Coach 14 E
MAN Truck & Bus has unveiled its first fully electric coach, the Lion's Coach 14 E, at Busworld. The vehicle, which won the Digitally Enhanced Driving category award, is equipped with advanced features such as a CO2 heat pump air conditioning system and MAN's latest Assistance Systems.
The Lion's Coach 14 E is 14 metres long and can accommodate up to 53 passengers, offering near-identical luggage capacity to diesel-based vehicles. It utilises a MAN battery and proprietary drivetrain technology from MAN's eTruck series, providing a usable battery capacity of 320-480 kWh and a power output of 330 kW. The coach is also equipped with solar panels on its roof and MAN's Electric Central Engine MAN eCD330 technology, giving it a range of up to 650 kilometres.
In addition to the Lion's Coach 14 E, MAN showcased other vehicles at Busworld, including NEOPLAN's Skyliner Auwärter Edition and Tourliner C, and the MAN TGE Coach minibus.
