Mechanized Mayhem Commences its 'Worldwide Tempest' Open Beta Test in February

Mecha Break, the game that's been under the radar for a while, is finally gearing up for its moment in the spotlight. The upcoming open beta, titled "Global Storm," is set to kick off on February 23 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. This beta is packed with exciting new features and updates, making it an enticing opportunity for players to dive in and check it out.

The action unfolds on the Mashmak Isles, a new location in the game. These isles are a cause of conflict due to the presence of Corite, a resource known as Eruptive Inorganic Carbide. Players will have the chance to engage in the new PvPvE mode, where they'll battle over these valuable reserves.

The beta offers a host of other features as well. Players can explore a space station, customize their characters and mecha, and choose from thirteen distinct Strikers. The 6v6 Operation Verge and 3v3 Ace Arena game modes have been revised with new maps and balance adjustments. A player reputation system, combat finishing moves, and new customization options for pilots and mecha round out the updates.

Equipment enhancements, such as weapon pickups and weaponized gliders, will also be available. These additions will allow players to dynamically boost the capabilities of their Strikers in various aspects, including close-quarters combat, healing, sniping, and suppressive fire.

Cross-play between PC and console will be enabled, ensuring players can team up regardless of their platform. Mecha Break is set to officially launch for PC and Xbox Series X|S in the Spring of 2025, with more platforms planned for release later in the year.

I've had a sneak peek at the game during last year's Tokyo Game Show. Despite being a work in progress at the time, I'm excited to dive back into the world of Mecha Break and see how it's evolved since then. So mark your calendars for February 23 and get ready for some high-octane mecha combat!
