Merkur sports betting rebrands as Xtip, adopting a fresh identity

The Merkur Group, a leading name in the gaming industry, has recently expanded its portfolio with the opening of a new gaming hall in Monheim. As part of this expansion, the group has also announced a significant change to its sports betting offer.

In a move that was first reported by the ISA-Guide, the Merkur Group has renamed its sports betting platform Xtip to Merkur Bets. This change, according to Stefan Bruns, board member for online gambling and sports betting at the Merkur Group, is part of a comprehensive restructuring of the existing betting offer.

Merkur Bets offers legal sports betting in Germany, holding a license from the German gambling authority (GGL). The sports betting platform is available both online and in stationary form, and the change only affects the sports betting offer in Germany. Players do not need to re-register or change settings in their sports betting account due to the name change.

The revised sports betting offer from Merkur Group will bring innovations and improved navigation to the Merkur Bets website. The registration process and navigation in the Merkur app and desktop version will also be simplified and optimized.

The sports offered at Merkur Bets include football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, darts, snooker, and volleyball. With a portfolio of well-known sports and some niche sports, Merkur Bets aims to cater to a wide range of sports enthusiasts.

However, it remains unclear if more sports will be added to the Merkur Bets betting program in the future. It is also worth noting that in Austria, the betting offer from the Merkur Group will still be available under the Xtip brand.
