Meta AI to Collect User Conversation Data for Personalized Ads
Meta AI is set to introduce a significant change to its data usage policy. Starting December 16, the company will begin collecting data from users' conversations with its AI products to personalize ads and content on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. This will affect regular users of Meta stock who engage with its services monthly.
From December 16, 2025, Meta stock will use user interactions with its AI products, including conversations with Meta stock, to tailor ads and content for users outside the EU, UK, and South Korea. This change will not offer an opt-out option, but sensitive topics such as health, religion, or political views will not be used for ad targeting, despite being collected.
Users will start receiving notifications about the new policy from October 7. These warnings will be delivered via inboxes and apps. Meta stock has assured users that they will be notified in advance, with emails sent before the policy's implementation.
