Neuromancer Series on Apple TV+ Progresses Further in Production
Vibin' with the New Cyberpunk Gig
It's finally happening, folks! After years of attempts, the adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer—the groundbreaking 1984 cyberpunk novel—is now gearing up to hit our screens, not as a feature film, but as a series on Apple TV's sci-fi hub. If the recent announcements are anything to go by, this show's on a roll!
Last month, we heard about the project, followed by the news of Callum Turner's casting. Now, another key player has stepped into the spotlight. According to Deadline, Briana Middleton (known for her roles in Sharper and the scrapped Sam Esmail Metropolis series) will join Turner as the co-lead of the series. Turner plays the part of Henry Case, a damaged top-tier hacker, while Middleton takes on the role of Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes.
As reported earlier, Neuromancer follows the story of Case and Molly, who team up to pull off a high-stakes heist on a corporate dynasty, exposing their hidden secrets.
Back in February, the show's creators—Graham Roland (showrunner) and JD Dillard (director of the pilot)—expressed their excitement in a statement: "Since we became buddies almost a decade ago, we've been on the lookout for something to collaborate on. Neuromancer has left an indelible mark on so much of the science fiction that's come after it, and we can't wait to bring TV audiences into Gibson's iconic 'cyberpunk' universe."
As of now, there's no word on when Neuromancer might air on Apple TV+, but the buzz is building around this project at last. Are you ready to dive into the matrix?
