Bitkom's New Headquarters Opens in Berlin

Berlin, Germany - The technology association Bitkom has reopened its headquarters in the heart of the city after a year of construction. Located at Albrechtstraße 10 in Berlin-Mitte, the new premises were designed by the Berlin-based architecture firm Something Fantastic.

The renovation and expansion cost 2.3 million euros and resulted in a unique space for new work, featuring areas for creation and communication. More than a thousand guests attended the official opening, which included keynote speeches, panels, and workshops on Work 4.0 and New Work.

Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller delivered the opening keynote speech, followed by a keynote speech from the Head of the Federal Chancellery Helge Braun. The official program ended in the evening with a panel discussion.

Bitkom has been present in Berlin since its founding and was one of the first federal associations to establish its headquarters in the new federal capital in the year 2000. The association's goal was to create a place for new work in the heart of Berlin, and with the new headquarters, they have achieved just that.

The new headquarters will house three subsidiaries and a total of 150 employees. Bitkom also has an additional office in Brussels.

Parallel to the lectures and discussions, tours on the topics of architecture, digital art, and Bitkom insights were taking place throughout the day. The architecture firm Something Fantastic, which previously curated and designed the German pavilion at the architecture biennale in Venice in 2016, led the design process for Bitkom's headquarters.

Julian Schubert, the person leading the redesign and implementation of the renovation of Bitkom's office spaces in Berlin-Mitte, summarized the new headquarters as a unique place for new work. The new headquarters do not seem to include any advertisements, making it a clean and focused space for innovation and collaboration.

As the world of work continues to evolve, Bitkom's new headquarters in Berlin will undoubtedly serve as a hub for the latest developments in technology and new work practices.
