New model, the e:NP1 from GAC Honda, hits the market priced approximately $26,700.

In a significant move towards electrification, GAC Honda has unveiled its new electric vehicle model, the e:NP1, and announced plans for a new plant in Guangzhou. The e:NP1, which focuses on delivering an exceptional driving and riding experience, is the first electric vehicle model from GAC Honda's new electric brand, e:NP.

The e:NP1 is based on the "e:N Architecture F" all-electric vehicle architecture, offering two CLTC range options: 420 km and 510 km. The model boasts a three-in-one motor with two motors that produce a maximum power of 150 kW and 134 kW, respectively.

GAC Honda's new plant, scheduled for completion in 2024, will cover an area of 400,000 square meters and have an annual capacity of 120,000 units. The plant was initially scheduled to start construction in October 2021, according to information from Guangzhou Public Resources Trading Center.

In a bid to attract consumers, GAC Honda is offering a range of benefits with the e:NP1. These include 5 years of free Over-The-Air (OTA) upgrades, a free charging pile, twice yearly basic maintenance, and free unlimited roadside assistance. The e:NP1 is also backed by a 3-year or 120,000 km warranty for the vehicle, and an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty for its motor, battery, and electric control system.

The e:NP1 is part of GAC Honda's "e:N" series, an all-electric vehicle built for Chinese consumers and intended for future export to overseas markets. Notably, Dongfeng Honda's e:NS1, which shares the same starting price of RMB 175,000, was officially launched in China on April 27.

Despite several searches, no publicly available information was found regarding the start or expected completion dates for the construction of GAC Honda's new electric vehicle plant. More specific sources would be needed to answer this precisely.

In the meantime, the construction of the plant in Guangzhou is moving forward, with production of the e:NP1 expected to begin in 2024. The e:NP brand was introduced by GAC Honda on March 29, 2023, marking a significant step in the company's electrification journey.
