New Update: Release of FSD Version 12.5.6.2, featuring custom Profiles for Cities and Additional Features

In a significant development, Tesla has initiated the rollout of software update 2024.33.30 for Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4) vehicles in North America. This update brings a host of improvements to Tesla's Autopilot and self-driving car technology.

One of the key features of this update is the improved version of Actually Smart Summon (ASS), which now pauses maneuvers on public/high-speed roads. This upgrade aims to provide a safer and smoother driving experience for Tesla users.

Ashok Elluswamy, an Indian engineer from Chennai who joined Tesla in 2014 as the first autopilot engineer, is now leading the entire AI team responsible for Tesla's Autopilot and self-driving car technology. Under his leadership, the team has worked tirelessly to deliver this latest update.

The software update also includes Full Self-Driving (FSD) 12.5.6.2. This update is expected to refine the Autopilot's capabilities, making it more efficient and reliable.

In addition to these improvements, the updated ASS version reduces false positive collision mitigation aborts, enhancing the system's accuracy. The update also features an improved Summon behavior at curbs, enhancing Dumb Summon.

Moreover, the update indicates upcoming HomeLink & myQ garage integration, allowing Tesla owners to control their garage doors directly from their car. The update also adds custom/fart completion sounds, adding a fun touch to the driving experience.

Lastly, the updated ASS version includes the feature of blocked camera aborts, which should help the system to handle obstructed views more effectively.

With these updates, Tesla continues to push the boundaries of autonomous driving technology, providing its users with a safer, more efficient, and enjoyable driving experience.
