Nio Unveils Deliveries of L90 Models; Test Drive Vehicles Boosted to a Thousand
In a significant move, Nio Inc's sub-brand, Onvo, launched the L90 SUV in China yesterday. The much-anticipated vehicle was unveiled in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, marking the start of a new era for Onvo.
Despite rumors suggesting that the L90 vehicles had been sold out, Nio management confirmed that there are still finished L90 SUVs available. Onvo has produced a batch of these vehicles in advance to enable rapid delivery after the launch.
The L90 SUV is Onvo’s flagship large SUV, available with either six or seven seats, featuring advanced technology, a spacious interior, and strong safety credentials. The first L90 vehicles delivered are six-seaters, with the seven-seater option, designed to appeal to families needing three-row seating, set to follow in late September.
The L90 SUV comes standard with an 85-kWh battery pack, priced at RMB 265,800 (approximately $34,800) including the battery pack. The 60-kWh battery pack availability for the L90 is still under investigation by Onvo's team.
Onvo began pre-sales of the L90 on July 10, and user deliveries for the six-seater variant started on August 1. Initially, nearly 600 vehicles were available for test drives at Onvo's showrooms, and this number has now been increased to 1,000.
William Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of Nio, visited an Onvo delivery center in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang province, today. During his visit, Li handed over L90 vehicles to 21 owners at the delivery center.
The L90 SUV was first delivered in 44 cities across China today. The seven-seater version of the L90 SUV will be available for delivery starting in late September 2025. Estimated waiting times for the seven-seat version as of early August 2025 remain at four to six weeks, consistent with the delivery timetable.
