New Nissan Micra: Pricing and Range Revealed for All-Electric Hatchback

Japanese automaker Nissan has announced the pricing for its new all-electric Nissan Micra, with the entry-level model starting from £22,995. The new Micra, returning as a battery electric vehicle (BEV), is the first of four new fully electric models to arrive on the Nissan line up.

The Micra will be available in three grades and two battery sizes. The entry-level 40 kWh Engage is priced at £22,995, while the next grade up, the Advanced, will be priced at £24,995 and £26,995 for the 40 kWh and 52 kWh battery versions, respectively. A third and final model is the Micra Evolve, which only comes with the 52 kWh battery and starts from £29,865.

Both battery options of the new Micra feature a standard heat pump, battery heating, and cooling capabilities. The 40 kWh battery uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry, targeting urban use, while the 52 kWh battery uses lithium-ion NMC chemistry, providing longer range suitable for motorway journeys.

The official range for the new Micra’s batteries, as measured using the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) cycle, is 198 miles for the 40 kWh battery and 260 miles for the 52 kWh battery. This aligns with Nissan's recent announcements and independent reviews of the 2025 Nissan Micra model.

Optional extras for the new Micra include 18" alloy wheels, heated front seats and heated steering wheel, and hands-free parking, each priced at £500, and an alternative grey synthetic leather interior for £400. The new Micra also features either 80 kW or 100 kW DC charging, depending on the battery size, allowing for a quick charge from 15% to 80% in only 30 minutes.

James Taylor, managing director of Nissan GB, expressed excitement about the competitive pricing of the new Nissan Micra. Joshua S. Hill, a journalist who has been writing about climate change, clean technology, and electric vehicles for over 15 years, has also expressed positivity about the new Micra. Despite his preference for walking, Hill has been reporting on electric vehicles and clean technologies for Renew Economy and The Driven since 2012.

The new Nissan Micra was unveiled in May and is set to be a key strategic model for Nissan. With its competitive pricing, range, and features, the new Micra is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market.
