Nissan's Qashqai model equipped with E-Power technology now delivers longer range and reduced noise level for a more efficient, tranquil drive.

The automotive industry is abuzz with the announcement of the new Nissan Qashqai E-Power, set to be available for ordering from autumn 2025. This latest iteration of the popular SUV introduces several significant technical and efficiency upgrades over its previous hybrid model.

The Qashqai E-Power employs a series hybrid system, a departure from the parallel hybrid used in its predecessor. In this setup, a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine, generating 140 kW and 330 Nm of torque, acts solely as a generator to charge a high-voltage battery. This battery then powers a front-axle-mounted electric motor that drives the wheels, providing a fully electric vehicle (EV)-like driving experience.

Performance enhancements include a Sport Mode that adds an extra 11 kW of power for more responsive driving. The cabin noise is reduced by up to 5.6 dB, enhancing ride comfort and EV-like refinement. Depending on trim, the Qashqai E-Power boasts new 18-, 19-, or 20-inch wheels, and the interior features an upgraded 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google-powered tech and improved safety systems.

Fuel consumption and range improvements are also noteworthy. The new E-Power model achieves best-in-segment fuel efficiency at 62 mpg (miles per gallon) according to WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure). The vehicle offers a potential range of up to 745 miles on a single full tank, a significant real-world improvement for long drives. CO₂ emissions have dropped from 116 g/km to 102 g/km—a 12% reduction compared to the outgoing model.

Compared to the previous hybrid model, the Qashqai E-Power offers numerous key advancements. The series hybrid system provides instant torque and a smoother, quieter ride. The new powertrain delivers improved fuel consumption and range due to optimized energy management and reduced reliance on the petrol engine driving the wheels. Upgraded infotainment, new safety features, and greater refinement contribute to the overall driving experience.

The new Qashqai E-Power is a five-seater, five-door mid-size SUV with a boot volume of 455-1440 liters. The exact price is not yet disclosed by Nissan Germany, but it is expected to be under 40,000 Euros.

The improvements make the new Qashqai E-Power more efficient, environmentally friendly, and refined compared to its previous hybrid iteration. With its series hybrid powertrain, the Qashqai E-Power is poised to offer a unique driving experience in the hybrid SUV segment.
