Nu Skin's Refill Revolution: Saving Millions in Waste by 2025
Nu Skin, a leading skincare company, has taken significant steps towards sustainability. It has introduced refillable packaging systems and eco-friendly materials, reducing waste and emissions across its ageLOC Tru Face line and other products.
Nu Skin's ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra Rich Cream now uses a refillable cartridge system, aiming to decrease single-use plastic. The company has relaunched the entire ageLOC Tru Face line with eco-friendly packaging, contributing to waste reduction. The new packaging for the ageLOC Tru Face Radiant Day SPF lotion incorporates 24% recycled materials.
By 2025, Nu Skin estimates its refill packaging systems will save 257.5 tonnes of glass and plastic annually and eliminate 572 tonnes of emissions. One refill of Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Elixir fragrance saves 73% glass, 66% plastic, and 61% cardboard compared to two 50ml bottles. The refill pouch for the ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra serum is 31 times lighter than the previous glass jar, reducing packaging material use by 96.8%.
In addition, Nu Skin's ageLOC Tru Face Future Serum's refill system reduces packaging waste by 72% per refill and 53% annually, saving 56 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. The ageLOC Tru Face Peptide Retinol Complex is packaged in a mono-material pump system with a refill cartridge made from 100% recycled materials.
Nu Skin's commitment to sustainability is evident in its refillable packaging systems and use of recycled materials. By 2025, these initiatives are expected to significantly reduce waste and emissions, contributing to a greener future in the skincare industry.
