Opel Introduces Opelo, a New Electric Vehicle Mascot for Kids
Opel has introduced a new brand figure for children, Opelo, a yellow-and-black robot with a bolt-shaped face. The character AI is set to appear in an animated film and will soon have its own merchandise collection in the Opel Lifestyle Shop.
Opelo is designed to explain the energy flow behind Opel's electric vehicles in a child-friendly and entertaining way. The character AI will star in a wordless animated film that demonstrates how it keeps the electrical circuit running in Opel's electric vehicles.
The Opel Lifestyle Shop will launch an Opelo collection, including a plush figure, T-shirts, keychains, water bottles, lunch boxes, coloring books, and stickers. An Opelo backpack is also planned to be added to the collection soon.
Quentin Huber, Head of Brand Content and Advertising at Opel, coordinated the introduction of the new children's brand character AI. He stated that the brand wants to invite people of all ages to join its journey towards electromobility.
Opel, a Stellantis-owned brand, continues to believe in the success of electric vehicles. While it previously announced plans to only offer electric models from 2028 onwards, it has since revised this plan. With the introduction of Opelo, the brand aims to engage and educate children about electric vehicles in a fun and relatable way.
