Open-Source POS System Uses LattePanda MU and Firebase for Efficient Order Management
Mukesh Sankhla has developed an open-source Point of Sale (POS) system, using the LattePanda MU single-board computer and Google Firebase as its database. The system, which does not vend items directly, is designed to display products on a touchscreen and print receipts via a thermal printer.
The POS system, created by Sankhla, is built around the LattePanda MU, a single-board computer developed by LattePanda. It runs on Windows 11 and Python, allowing for user-friendly interface and programming flexibility. The system's open-source nature enables continuous upgrades and modifications.
For printing receipts, the system employs an Xiao ESP32 S3 microcontroller, which interfaces with a thermal printer. This ensures efficient and cost-effective printing. The database backend is handled by Google Firebase, providing real-time data synchronization and robust storage.
Sankhla's open-source POS system, using the LattePanda MU and Google Firebase, offers a scalable and customizable solution for businesses. While it does not vend items directly, it effectively manages orders and provides receipts, streamlining the checkout process.
