Pokémon Legends: Z-A Beings' Mega Evolutions That Elicit Great Anticipation Following Leaks

Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the highly anticipated new instalment in the Pokémon series, is set to introduce a plethora of new mega evolutions, bringing back older megas and introducing more than two dozen new ones.

One of the most intriguing additions is Raichu, which will be one of the rare Pokémon to get two different mega evolutions, Raichu X and Y. These will be available in the Mega Dimension DLC sometime after the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Among the confirmed Pokémon to receive a mega form in Pokémon Legends: Z-A are Dragonite and the starters from Pokémon X and Y - Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja. Mega Chesnaught (Brigaron), Mega Delphox (Fennexis), and Mega Greninja (Quajutsu) will be obtainable as rewards in online ranked battles starting October 16, 2025.

The leaked list of mega evolutions includes familiar faces like Victreebel, Malamar, and Hawlucha, which now have confirmed mega evolutions. The details of these evolutions have been unveiled in various ways, from found footage-style horror shorts to faux news broadcasts and special animations.

Victreebel's mega evolution was revealed on Aug. 21, while Mega Malamar was unveiled on Sept. 10. Hawlucha's new mega evolution was revealed on Aug. 28 in a special Rocky-esque wrestling animation. The fighting-type bird's new form adds a muscular physique and a wrestling belt.

The exact number of new megas in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is not yet clear, but more than two dozen are expected. The Mega Dimension DLC will also include more megas, although the exact number is not yet known.

Mega evolutions, first introduced in Pokémon X and Y over a decade ago, add another layer to battle strategy in Pokémon games. These temporary evolutions can only be activated once during each battle and have unique abilities and appearances.

The details of how mega evolutions will be tied to the game's rogue mega battles are not yet known, but it's clear that they will play a significant role in the game's battles.

Information about these new mega evolutions was leaked and collaboratively distributed by the Pokémon Legends: Z-A leaker and the owners of the Pokeos website, Makio and JRoses.

Stay tuned for more updates on Pokémon Legends: Z-A as we approach its release. With these exciting new mega evolutions, the game is shaping up to be a must-play for Pokémon fans everywhere.
