Polestar's 2025 Polestar 4 to Revolutionize Driving with Digital Rearview Mirror

Polestar, a Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer, has introduced a revolutionary feature in its upcoming Polestar 4 model: a digital rearview mirror that replaces the traditional rear window. This innovation promises enhanced safety, comfort, and a more luxurious backseat experience.

The Polestar 4, set to hit the market in 2025, will be the first model to feature this cutting-edge technology as standard. Ola Aldensjo, the Polestar 4 Product Manager, explains that the digital rearview mirror uses a 2.5-megapixel camera with a 121-degree field of view to transmit real-time images to an 8.9-inch HD display in the cabin.

This design not only provides a clearer picture of the road behind but also opens up more space in the back of the car. The lack of a rear window creates a more immersive and luxurious experience for passengers, while the combination of improved safety and increased comfort drives this automotive innovation. The traditional rearview mirror, a staple in car design for over a century, is now being reimagined for the digital age.

The Polestar 4's digital rearview mirror, available with the vehicle itself, offers drivers better visibility, particularly in poor lighting or rainy conditions. By embracing this technology, Polestar continues to push the boundaries of car design, enhancing the driving experience while maintaining a strong focus on safety and comfort.
