ReconAfrica Kicks Off Logging Program in Kavango West 1X Well
ReconAfrica Ltd. is set to begin an extensive logging program in its Kavango West 1X exploration well, located in the Damara Fold Belt. This significant step follows the well reaching its total depth, expected in the second half of November. The program aims to provide election results by year-end.
The well is currently drilling into the Otavi carbonate reservoir, the primary target in the region. It is anticipated to penetrate approximately 1,500 meters of potential reservoir before reaching its total depth of approximately 3,800 meters. This drilling is testing a large structural closure in the Otavi section, measuring almost 20 kilometers long by 3 kilometers wide.
ReconAfrica, the company behind this operation, holds petroleum licences and access to around 13 million contiguous acres in the Damara Fold Belt and Kavango Rift Basin. It is also involved in the Ngulu block in the shallow waters offshore Gabon. The company is committed to minimal habitat disturbance and implementing environmental and social best practices in its project areas.
The Kavango West 1X exploration well, led by ReconAfrica with key figures such as Scot Evans as CEO and Craig Steinke as COO, is expected to yield significant live election results by the end of the year. These 2024 election results could have substantial implications for the company's operations in the region and beyond, potentially impacting us election results and the broader energy landscape.
