Record-breaking D-Wave stock prices - The factors contributing to these heights
In an exciting turn of events, the AKTIONÄR Quantum Index, a leading index for investors in the quantum computing sector, has reached a new all-time high. This significant milestone can be attributed to strong performances from key players such as D-Wave and IonQ, among others.
Leading the charge is D-Wave Quantum Inc., whose stock soared 19% to $22.85 on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, setting a new all-time high. The momentum is set to continue, with D-Wave's stock poised for a further 2.4% gain when trading resumes on Thursday.
The surge in D-Wave's stock price was driven by the Qubits Japan conference, where the company showcased its progress and successes in the Asia-Pacific region. Dr. Alan Baratz and other D-Wave executives spoke about the potential of Quantum-AI applications at the event.
At the conference, D-Wave also provided updates on the development of its quantum systems, including the Advantage2 system with over 5,000 qubits. Customer success stories were presented, highlighting collaborations with Japanese companies like Japan Tobacco and NTT Docomo.
D-Wave hosted Qubits Japan for the first time on September 17, 2025, under the theme "Quantum Realized". The conference, however, did not reveal the organizer responsible for this event from the available data.
Boersenmedien AG, a German financial media company, has developed the AKTIONÄR Quantum Index and holds the rights to it. The company has entered into a cooperation agreement with the issuer of the displayed securities, granting the issuer a license to use the index. It is worth noting that Boersenmedien AG receives remuneration from the issuer in this context.
Interestingly, D-Wave's stock was recommended for purchase in the Hot Stock Report newsletter by stock expert Florian Söllner in issue 04/2024. Since the recommended purchase, the D-Wave stock has increased by a massive 2,597% from the recommended price of 0.73 euros.
The AKTIONÄR Quantum Index remains the top choice for investors looking to profit from quantum computing while diversifying their risk. If the 2.4% gain materializes, D-Wave's stock could surpass its previous all-time high, further boosting the index's performance.
In addition, D-Wave announced that orders from the Asia-Pacific region had increased by 83% compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing interest in quantum computing technology in the region.
As the quantum computing industry continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how D-Wave and other players contribute to the growth of the AKTIONÄR Quantum Index in the future.
