A Bright Future for Electric Vehicle Owners in Berlin
From July 1, 2025, Berlin's municipal utilities will no longer charge blocking fees for those who charge using a credit card or PayPal. In the future, spontaneous users will only pay for the electricity consumed. Contract customers with charging cards or subscription models will keep their current tariffs.

This technology is already being successfully tested in Paris, reducing unnecessary trips by up to 40%, according to the French Ministry of Transport. Berlin is also investing an additional five million euros in new charging stations by 2026, including fast chargers in city centers and photovoltaic stations on the outskirts.
