The NYT Mini is the quick and convenient version of the newspaper's larger and longer-running crossword puzzle. Each day, there are typically between three and five clues in each direction, arranged in a five by five grid. However, the puzzles can sometimes be larger, especially on Saturdays.

It took me just over 1 minute and a half to complete this Saturday's NYT Mini.

Not a bad time for a Saturday Mini! I'll take that.

I initially thought the answer to 4 Across was "foxes" and had never heard of a corn cob being used as Frosty's pipe, which slowed me down a bit. But getting the answer to 1 Down quickly unlocked many of the answers.

I was able to guess the answer to 5 Down quickly, even though I was only familiar with one of those as Sodas, because that was a group of words in a Connections category a few weeks ago. BRR and the Nintendo Wii seem like filler answers to make the rest of the grid work, but now I have a sudden urge to play bowling on Wii Sports.
