Rohde & Schwarz reveals novel frequency designs extending up to 54 GHz for the R&S ZNB3000 vector network analyzer
New High-Frequency Vector Network Analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz Set to Debut at EuMW 2025
Rohde & Schwarz, a leading company in wireless communications technology, is set to unveil its latest innovation, the R&S ZNB3000 Vector Network Analyzer, at the EuMW 2025 event in Utrecht.
The R&S ZNB3000 is an ideal choice for both production environments and research labs working on next-generation technologies. This versatile instrument addresses more applications, including RF component testing for 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi, advanced high-speed interconnect testing for AI data centers, next-generation RF component testing for satellite communications in the Ka band and V band.
One of the standout features of the R&S ZNB3000 is its low start frequency of 9 kHz, enabling precise time-domain analysis. This feature, combined with its ultra-fast measurement speed, ensures highly accurate and fast speed tests at higher frequencies.
The R&S ZNB3000 is optimized for high-speed interconnect testing for AI applications in data centers. It extends the maximum frequencies up to 32 GHz, 43.5 GHz, and 54 GHz, enabling precise characterization of high-speed PCBs, cables, and interconnects used in AI data center infrastructure.
The R&S ZNB3000 family also boasts a high dynamic range of up to 150 dB and low trace noise of less than 0.0015 dB RMS. This, along with its high output power, makes it a powerful tool for RF and microwave network analysis.
At EuMW 2025, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate the new 54 GHz model of the R&S ZNB3000. The demonstration will include a PCIe cable as the device under test, showcasing how to ensure the reliability of high-speed interconnects for AI-driven workloads.
Moreover, the new high-frequency models of the R&S ZNB3000 support advanced RF component testing for SatCom applications in the Ka and V bands. This is particularly important given the new PCIe 7.0, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express, under development, which will double the supported data rates up to 128.0 GT/s, requiring speed tests at higher frequencies.
The R&S ZNB3000 is a vector network analyzer, a type of electronic test instrument used to measure the S-parameters (scattering parameters) of RF and microwave networks. Its flexible frequency upgrade concept makes it a scalable platform, helping engineers and researchers accelerate innovation in high-performance RF applications and signal integrity testing.
In summary, the R&S ZNB3000 Vector Network Analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz is designed to combine precision and speed in a scalable platform, making it an essential tool for the development and testing of next-generation wireless communication technologies.
