Step up your Samsung game with the June security update
Security upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S25 and above devices released in June
Sound the alarm, Galaxy fans! Samsung's June security update is here, and it's packed with fixes for moderate-risk vulnerabilities and high-risk semiconductor issues. If you're rocking the latest Galaxy S25 models, or even some older devices like the S21 FE, it's time to update and strengthen your phone's defense.
The latest update, available via 9to5Google, tackles a whopping 19 vulnerabilities that sneaked into your previous firmware (you can check them out right here). While none of these vulnerabilities are critical, the tech titan has taken care of some high-risk semiconductor patches addressing issues on Android versions 13, 14, and 15.
The update went live with the Galaxy S21 FE and worked its way up to the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and the powerhouse S25 Ultra. Even some Galaxy A series phones, like the A36, A54, and A55, are invited to the party. But remember, the rollout's just started, so don't be surprised if it takes a bit of time to reach your phone.
Gearing up for the next level: One UI 8
After a patient wait for the One UI 7 update, Samsung is ready to speed things up with the One UI 8 release. With the next Galaxy Unpacked event looming around the corner, Samsung's throwing the One UI 8 version our way faster than a pitch in a baseball game.
For those who aren't keeping score, Samsung has already released the second One UI 8 beta for S25 devices, and it's also rolling out the One UI 8 update for smartwatches. Rumor has it that the Galaxy foldables, including the Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the brand-new Z Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch 8 series might join the party next month.
