Lawo Showcases IP-Based Broadcast Advancements at IBC Show
The upcoming IBC Show will see Lawo unveil significant developments in IP-based broadcasting, with the launch of the HOME Power Core app and the Radio 8.2 software release.
The HOME Power Core app is a software-only version of Lawo’s Power Core hardware unit, designed for fully virtualized, IP-based broadcast environments. It offers the same real-time mixing, routing, and monitoring features as the hardware counterpart and is compatible with Lawo’s crystal, diamond, and crystal Clear mixing consoles. The app runs on standard commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers and comes in three instance sizes—Compact, Large, and XL—allowing users to match DSP power requirements precisely to their operational needs. It natively supports Ravenna/AES67 and SMPTE ST2110 protocols, and will soon add Dante, NDI, and SRT support, expanding its versatility for talk radio, visual radio, and live webcasts. Integrated transcoding and stream management facilitate dynamic connectivity, monitoring, and processing of audio sources from diverse devices including physical Power Core units and third-party interfaces. It also supports perpetual licenses and Flex Subscription credit-based activation for deployment flexibility.
Regarding Radio 8.2, the key highlight is the introduction of a 96 kHz XL License that upgrades DSP capabilities for Lawo’s radio consoles. This upgrade includes switchable compressor modes operable in automatic or manual settings, enhancing audio processing options. VisTool, Lawo’s GUI design and control software, has also been improved for better usability and streamlined setup/live operation across radio studios of various sizes.
In addition to the HOME Power Core app, Lawo will also showcase HOME 4.0, the latest evolution of its IP-native management platform.
The IBC Stand for Lawo is 8.B90, where these advancements will be on display.
