SOG's Hidaka Series Blends Japanese & Western Blade Design

SOG has introduced the Hidaka series, a blend of Japanese and Western blade-design concepts. The knives, designed by renowned knife maker Kiku Matsuda, have received recognition, including the 'Best Collaboration Award' at the 2007 Atlanta Blade Show.

The SOG Hidaka XR and FX are the first in this series. The XR, priced at $309.95, features a 4-inch CPM 3V steel modified tanto blade and a linen micarta handle. The FX, at $249.95, has a 4.8-inch CPM 3V steel true fixed blade. Both knives showcase CPM 3V's toughness and resistance to chipping, ideal for survival and tactical use.

Matsuda, with over 40 years of experience, has collaborated with major brands. His work on the Hidaka series has been praised for combining traditional Japanese design with modern Western functionality.
