Sound Artist Lasse-Marc Riek Brings 'Listening Bushes' to Museum Schloss Steinheim
Internationally renowned sound artist Lasse-Marc Riek is set to captivate audiences at Museum Schloss Steinheim with a series of events, including lectures and sound installations, as part of the ongoing exhibition 'Prince George's Garden Dream'.
Riek, active since 1997, will deliver a lecture titled 'Seeing with the Ears - Between Art and Science' on Thursday, 9 October, at 6 pm. The talk will delve into the scientific and artistic exploration of sounds, offering insights into recording and design techniques for soundscapes.
From Saturday, 18 October to Sunday, 19 October, Riek will create a sound installation in the Nightingale Grove. Titled 'Listening Bushes', this interactive piece will transform the grove into a sound forest, immersing visitors in unique compositions of rare and fascinating sounds. The installation will run from 11 am to 5 pm.
Riek is a co-founder of the label Gruenrekorder, dedicated to soundscape, field recordings, and electroacoustic compositions since 2001. His works have been presented in various galleries, museums, and public media, earning him numerous awards and distinctions. The exhibition 'Prince George's Garden Dream', which explores the life and work of Prince George of Hesse-Darmstadt, will end on Sunday, 19 October 2025.
