SpiNNcloud's Brain-Inspired AI Supercomputer Now Available, Backed by €2.5M EIC Funding
Dresden-based DeepTech startup SpiNNcloud Systems has secured €2.5 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) for its groundbreaking project. The company has announced the commercial availability of its latest innovation, the SpiNNaker2 platform, a high-performance AI computer inspired by the human brain.
SpiNNcloud Systems, in collaboration with the University of Manchester and TU Dresden, has developed SpiNNaker2. This platform is set to revolutionise real-time artificial intelligence, offering unparalleled flexibility and energy efficiency. The project has also seen partnership with Sandia National Laboratories, which will be among the first to utilise SpiNNaker2.
SpiNNaker2 is not just a supercomputer, but a neural supercomputer. It's designed to mimic the brain's structure and function, enabling it to process vast amounts of data in real-time with minimal energy consumption. This makes it the world's largest and most energy-efficient supercomputer for real-time AI.
The SpiNNaker2 platform will initially be available as a cloud solution in late 2024, with full production systems ready for deployment in the first half of 2025. This marks a significant milestone in the commercialisation of neuromorphic computing, bringing us a step closer to creating AI that truly understands and interacts with the world like the human brain.
SpiNNcloud Systems' SpiNNaker2 platform, backed by €2.5 million in EIC funding, promises to reshape the AI landscape. With its unmatched flexibility and energy efficiency, SpiNNaker2 is set to enable real-time AI applications that were previously impossible. As Sandia National Laboratories prepares to deploy the system, the world awaits the full-scale rollout of this groundbreaking technology in 2025.
