Streaming service Hulu gains access to Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and additional new channels.
New and Shiny: 14 ViacomCBS Channels Arrive on Hulu, Rather Affordably – For Now!
Awesome news for you Hulu fans! After a somewhat forgettable announcement back in January, the long-awaited arrival of 14 new ViacomCBS channels has finally happened. From today onwards, you'll find a slew of fresh options hitting the Hulu with Live TV service.
What can you expect to see? A variety of music, comedy, animated favorites, and a dash of everything else you might not have time for. The channels joining the party include BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Paramount Network, TV Land, VH1, and more.
But there's more! Hulu also plans to add several additional channels to its Entertainment add-on, which currently costs $8 extra per month. That buffet of additional entertainment includes BET Her, MTV2, NickToons, TeenNick, and MTV Classic. Now, the Entertainment package boasts a whopping 16+ extra channel options, all thanks to the ViacomCBS deal.
Hulu made the big move back in January, signing an extensive multi-year agreement with ViacomCBS. Unfortunately, they remained mum on how this channel injection might (or might not) impact the subscription costs. However, it seems that for now, most of the major channels are being bundled into the Hulu with Live TV experience at no extra charge.
Given that Hulu recently hiked its prices to $65 per month, it's a bit of a stretch to expect them to pile on even more just months later. And yes, those price increases just keep rolling in, don't they? Still, as streaming services stack on more and more channels, they tend to reassess their pricing to match the improved quality and quantity of their offerings.
So, delight in these additions, Hulu fans! For now, things are staying pretty affordable. But be ware: the streaming landscape is ever-changing, and future adjustments to pricing may be looming on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates!
