Subaru has officially announced plans to launch three new electric SUV models in the year 2026.

Subaru Unveils Three New Electric Models for 2026

Subaru is set to expand its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the introduction of three new models next year. The automaker has announced the arrival of the Uncharted, an updated Solterra, and the Subaru E-Outback in the UK, with the Uncharted and updated Solterra launching early in 2026, and the E-Outback scheduled for summer 2026.

The Uncharted: A Compact, Sporty EV

The Uncharted, one of the three new models, will be a compact sporty electric SUV. It will come in two powertrain options: a single front electric motor with front-wheel drive, delivering 221 hp, and a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) system, boasting 338 hp and a 0-60 mph time of under 5 seconds.

The Uncharted will feature a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a range of over 300 miles for the base FWD model and up to 290 miles for the AWD variant. Fast-charging capabilities will allow the Uncharted to reach 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes, even in cold conditions.

The Uncharted will boast Subaru's signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system on most trims, along with a 14-inch infotainment display, wireless charging, and advanced safety technology including the Subaru EyeSight suite. The SUV will also include body cladding for protection and a high ground clearance of 210mm.

The Updated Solterra: Improved Performance and Range

The updated Solterra, Subaru's third new model, is a heavily facelifted version of the current car, featuring refreshed styling. It will feature a dual electric axle setup, producing 252 kW (344 hp), and a larger 73.1 kWh battery, offering a range of more than 310 miles. The Solterra's towing capacity has also been doubled to 1,500kgs.

The Solterra's performance has also been improved, with a 0-62 mph time of 5.1 seconds. It will also feature hardware and software improvements, as well as a refined interior technology similar to the Uncharted.

The Subaru E-Outback: A Larger Electric SUV

The Subaru E-Outback, also known as the Trailseeker, is a more estate car-like version of the existing Solterra. It will accommodate four large suitcases and incorporate Subaru’s electric AWD system. The E-Outback is the sister model to the new Toyota bZ4X Touring and is scheduled for a summer 2026 release in the UK. Further details, including exact specs and pricing, have yet to be announced.

All three models will focus on Subaru’s signature AWD capability, advanced safety systems, and technology enhancements. Pricing and specific market availability details will be announced closer to launch.
