SWEG Enhances Bus Services With New On-Board Tech

SWEG, a prominent German bus operator headquartered in Lahr/Schwarzwald, has introduced new technology across its fleet, bolstering passenger information and driver operations. This rollout, backed by Teltomat GmbH, features multifunctional on-board computers acting as the communication system's hub and driver's aid.

The new technology, deployed in SWEG's Müllheim and Endingen buses, delivers real-time data to the SWEG bus control center. This enables real-time vehicle tracking, facilitating improved management and safety.

Drivers now operate more efficiently and can issue a broader range of tickets. The system processes real-time events and controls on-board electronics, serving as a crucial driver's assistant. SWEG board member Dr. Thilo Grabo has commended the new technology for its enhancement of passenger information services.

Looking forward, real-time data could potentially be displayed at bus stops, contingent on the installation of display systems. This data is currently fed to NVBW's data hub and integrated into digital timetable information platforms like efa-bw.de and the 'Bus & Bahn' app.

SWEG's new technology, implemented with the support of Teltomat GmbH, is revolutionizing passenger information and driver operations. With real-time data and enhanced communication, SWEG continues to elevate its services, benefiting both passengers and drivers.
