Telegram's second-highest number of complaints, in Russia's Kuban region, stem from service disruptions.
Widespread Telegram Disruptions Reported Across Russia
Users in various Russian regions, including Krasnodar, have been facing issues with the messaging service Telegram. According to the monitoring service "Sboi.rf", Kuban in the Krasnodar region ranks second in Russia, accounting for 12% of all reported problems.
Moscow, with 29%, and other regions such as Novosibirsk (8%), St. Petersburg (6%), and Bashkortostan (6%) have also reported issues. The common complaint among users was the inability to load messages and media files across both mobile and desktop versions.
Prevalent mobile internet outages in central Russia, affecting services like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, could potentially be contributing to these issues, although the connection between the regions and the outages is not explicitly clear.
As of publication, Telegram representatives have not issued any official comments regarding the specific incidents in the Krasnodar region. In previous instances, such outages have been resolved within a few hours.
Noteworthy: Ongoing tensions and drone attacks in Russia may have indirectly contributed to these disruptions.
Platforms: VKontakte, OK.ru, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp
- The widespread disruptions of Telegram in Russia extend beyond Krasnodar, affecting social-media platforms like VKontakte, OK.ru, and entertainment sources such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Amidst ongoing tensions and potential drone attacks in Russia, some suspect that the technology infrastructure underpinning these platforms could be a target.
