New Volkswagen Tera Launches in Argentina
Volkswagen has introduced a new compact SUV to its Argentine lineup, the Tera. Positioned between the Polo and Nivus models, the Tera offers four versions with a variety of engine and transmission options.
The Tera's dimensions are 4.15 meters in length, 1.78 meters in width, and 1.50 meters in height, making it a compact yet spacious crossover with SUV aspirations.
Under the hood, the Comfort, High, and Outfit versions come equipped with a 999 cc three-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Trend version, on the other hand, features a 1.6-liter gasoline engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Key features of the Tera include a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel in the High and Outfit versions, electro-assisted steering, disc brakes on all wheels, and parking sensors in mid to high trims. Only the High and Outfit versions come with additional standard equipment such as post-collision emergency braking, lane-keeping assistant, blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, tire pressure indicator, and adaptive cruise control.
The interior of the top trims boasts leather and fabric seats, while the Comfort version offers an 8-inch digital instrument panel. The High and Outfit versions also provide wireless cell phone charging, rearview camera, and ambient lighting.
The Tera's pricing starts around $60,000 USD for the Trend version, with the Comfort version priced at $33,700,000, the High at $36,900,000, and the Outfit at $37,800,000. Despite the relatively high price range, the Tera is set to be one of the most affordable vehicles in Volkswagen's local market.
In terms of rivals, the Tera will compete with models like the Fiat Pulse, Renault Kadian, and Citroën Basalt. Volkswagen Argentina has launched the new Tera model in its official dealer network, offering customers a new compact SUV option with a range of features and engine options.
The Tera will also come equipped with a connectivity system from the Comfort version, ensuring seamless integration with modern technology. However, it's worth noting that only the most equipped versions sold in the Argentine market will come with emergency automatic braking.
With its compact size, variety of engine options, and array of features, the new Volkswagen Tera is set to offer Argentine customers a versatile and modern SUV choice.
