More than a dozen charging cables from charging stations cut off - Thieves Cause €50,000 Damage in Stralsund Electric Car Charging Cable Thefts

Thieves have caused significant damage in Stralsund by stealing and damaging electric car charging cables. The total cost of the theft is estimated at around 50,000 euros.

Over the past two weeks, between September 22 and last Friday, criminals targeted electric vehicle charging stations in Stralsund. They cut and took 14 charging cables, leaving the stations inoperable.

The stolen cables were from two locations: 8 from the Rostocker Chaussée and 6 from fast-charging stations in Stralsund Andershof. Despite extensive investigations, the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown. Police are urging any witnesses to come forward to help solve the case.

The theft of the charging cables has resulted in substantial damage, with repairs estimated to cost around 50,000 euros. Police are seeking witnesses to help identify the culprits and bring them to justice.
