Wordle Breakdown
I checked in with Wordle Bot for advice and opened with YEARS. It wasn't a far-fetched choice, ending up with 54 words remaining and green and yellow squares. TACKE only brought the number to 7, but luck was on my side with my third attempt. I struck gold with NERVE!
Competitive Wordle Scoring
Scoring Rules:
Guessing within 1 try is worth 3 points.Second try garners 2 points.Three tries equal 1 point.Four tries don't net you any points.Guessing within 5 tries results in -1 points.Missing the mark altogether earns you -3 points.Beating your opponent earns 1 point.Tieing also yields 0 points.Losing to your opponent scores you -1 point.
So at the year's end, I got 1 point for guessing three times, and another point for besting the Bot, giving me a total of 2 points.

Today's Wordle Origins
The term "nerve" comes from the Latinnervus, meaning "sinew" or "tendon," which also refers to strength, vigor, and the body's physical strings. This word in turn traces back to the Greekneuron (νεῦρον), meaning "sinew, tendon, or cord," eventually transitioning to the medical term for "nerve" in anatomy.
The late 18th century saw the metaphorical use of "nerve" to express courage or boldness, as physical strength correlated with inner fortitude.
