I messed up with this one, but it all worked out in the end. My first guess, SPIRE, was not great, but it wasn't terrible either. With just one green box, I decided to leave it as is for my second guess. Unfortunately, I made a bad move and repeated the grey 'R' from the first word in my third guess, GRATE. This narrowed down the potential solutions to 17. Not much better, I guessed FLAKE and reduced the number of options to 5. Finally, I guessed correctly with my fourth and final attempt: BLADE.

Wordle Origin

Originating from Old English "blæd", the term blade means "a leaf of a plant" or "a cutting edge of a weapon or tool." This term stems from Proto-Germanic "bladą", meaning "leaf" or "flat surface," and is related to Old Saxon blad, Old Norse blað, and Gothic blada.

The original significance likely referred to flat, thin objects, such as leaves, and later extended to the sharp edges of knives, swords, and other tools.
