Toyota Recalls Nearly 400,000 Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Malfunction
Toyota is recalling nearly 400,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a potential rearview camera malfunction. The issue, affecting certain 2022-2025 Tundra and 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrid models, could lead to reduced visibility and increased crash risk.
The recall, covering 393,838 vehicles, stems from a software glitch that may cause the rearview camera to fail, hindering drivers' visibility. Toyota dealers will rectify the problem by updating the multimedia display software at no charge to owners.
The affected models include the Tundra and Tundra Hybrid from 2022 to 2025, and the Sequoia Hybrid from 2023 to 2025. Despite the recall, it's worth noting that a database search for specific recalls did not list these models, only mentioning technical updates for Toyota VIN checks.
Toyota urges owners of the affected vehicles to contact their local dealers to schedule the free software update. The recall aims to enhance safety by ensuring the rearview camera functions correctly, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.
