Trackonomy Acquires InPlay to Revolutionize Smart Label Tech

Trackonomy, a trailblazer in smart label technology, has bolstered its mission with the acquisition of InPlay. The deal brings together two innovators in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, aiming to revolutionise the smart label ecosystem.

InPlay, renowned for its NanoBeacon SoC, specialises in ultra-low-cost, large-scale adoption of BLE technology. This acquisition provides Trackonomy with chips purpose-built for smart label applications, further strengthening its portfolio.

InPlay's global team of around 20 employees, based in Irvine, CA, will join forces with Trackonomy. Their NanoBeacon technology, enabling a new generation of smart labels with ultra-low power consumption and high-volume scalability, will now be integrated into Trackonomy's offerings.

Trackonomy, recipient of the World Economic Forum Pioneer Award, has raised $250 million from investors including 8VC, Kleiner Perkins, and Koch Disruptive Technologies. The company aims to accelerate its mission with this strategic acquisition.

The acquisition of InPlay by Trackonomy brings together two leaders in BLE innovation. With InPlay's NanoBeacon technology, Trackonomy can now offer ultra-low-cost, high-volume smart label solutions. This deal is set to drive significant advancements in the smart label ecosystem.
